Introducing... Boomer Ewing

After many months of waiting our new puppy is finally here. We are so thrilled and excited. He is definitely getting comfortable here and has a few favorites: chasing balls, chasing Little One, taking Little One's favorite blanket, trying to get in the bathtub when the girls are taking a bath, nibbling toes, and doing the "puppy dance" and trying to pounce on the cats... this one lasted about 2 times and then after the cat stood up for himself Boomer backed off, yelping with his tail between his legs... So, I guess that is not a favorite anymore. He is eating well and seems to be getting the hang of potty training. The first night he cried most of the night in his bed missing his siblings but since then he has done great. He cries a bit when we put him in his crate but he is getting over it quicker. He is alot of work and I am sure will continue to be for a while, but we are so happy to have him as part of our family.

So, without further delay... introducing Boomer Ewing.

Playdates, School Projects and Lost Teeth... Oh My!

Here I thought I would wait until later this week to post some pictures... and then we had a very important moment in our household...

MISS A LOST HER FIRST TOOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She got out of bed and came into our room saying her tooth felt really wobbly... We tried the wet washcloth trick and nothing... So, Miss M brought in one of her flossy things that the orthodontist gave her to try... and one quick tug and it was out. Miss A was so brave and so excited... until we brought out the tooth fairy pillow. She is not ready for her tooth to go to the tooth fairy yet so she put it in a ziplock and we will see if she wants to put it in the pillow tomorrow night... It was a very cute moment.

Miss M had her first school project for the year... The year has been full of simple homework assignments, reading, tests etc... But, this was the first project in Social Studies. All of the 2nd grade classrooms turned their hallways outside of their classrooms into a "city" with all different types of buildings. The kids could pick whatever they wanted to build and it could be no bigger than a cereal box. Megan came up with the idea, drew it out and built it (with a little help from Dad) and it turned out great!

And Little One had a playdate this past week with her friend down the street... it is funny to see them together now. Logan is only 4 months older than Little One but because she is so petite he seems so much older. They did so well and played great together... they played blocks, the duck game, toys and chased each other with baby strollers... it was adorable!

Time if just flying by...

How can it be that I have not posted in over a month? It is unbelievable how quickly time flies once we pass Labor Day. I feel like we hit Labor Day and next thing I know it is Christmas Day. This is always the best time of year for our family... We are finally able to be outside and do something other than sit in the pool or under the misters. We are excited to decorate our house for all the different seasons. We are excited to start cooking and baking again because it is not 120 degrees outside. We love this time of year... and this year is no different.

We are now fully entrenched in school and activities with the first report cards coming home this past Friday and conferences being held. We are thrilled with how well the kids are doing... they are adjusting well to 2nd grade and kindergarten and we hope the rest of the year continues to go well for them. Little One has also reached a major milestone... she has all of her "baby" teeth... we are still awaiting the 2 year molars but we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and our happy baby has returned again!

We are now on Fall Break and looking forward to some fun this week... The beginning of the week we seem to be booked solid with playdates and activities. We leave on Thursday to go to Mum and Pa's for a quick visit and to pick up our new addition Boomer. We are excited to hang out with Mum and Pa and help Pa celebrate his birthday early. We are also so excited to finally get our puppy and bring him home. We have been preparing for lots of months and the time is finally arriving.

We finished decorating the inside of the house today for fall and Mike is working on the yard and winter grass. Hopefully this week we will finish decorating the outside of the house and get it all ready for Halloween. Then it is on to Thanksgiving which we are having here this year... excited to spend time with family and friends and just have a nice and hopefully cool day. Christmas will also be spent here and the kids are already making their lists for Santa. Just really hoping Santa has a WII Fit somewhere in the North Pole! :-) We are excited that Mike will have 2 weeks off at Christmas and New Years and looking forward to all of the wonders of the Christmas season!

So, kind of a lame post but just wanted to let you all know we are still alive and kickin... just much too busy for our own good. But, we are thankful that we have such a great little family here that is getting ready for our favorite time of year. We will post pictures of the new addition later this week...

Happy Fall everyone!

Happy Days Are Here Again... At Least For Now!

Seems Miss A and Little One are totally back! So, we celebrated tonight by having a big bath party! All 3 kids climbed into the bathtub and had a blast... It was fun to see so much laughter and silliness! There has not been much of that the last couple of weeks!

Thankful for The Little Things in Life

Like sending both kids to school! Miss A's fever broke on Monday evening... Kept her home yesterday to play it safe and she is still fever free. Says her throat hurts, but giving her motrin before she leaves for school and making her a lunch packed with soft stuff. Miss M (knock on major wood) still seems ok. I found the baby on the kitchen table hanging from the light fixture (literally), so I would think that she is back to normal. Daddy-O is on antibiotics for a sinus infection and on his way to relief.

Now, if I could get myself back to normal life would be great. I am on Day 7 and still not able to eat much... Waiting for a throat culture to come back... They are so convinced I am living with strep that they sent it out to a lab after 2 negative ones. I guess this teaches me a lesson... Just let go of the negative and mean stuff out there... Look what happens to myself when I don't!

HOPE YOU ARE ALL STAYING HEALTHY! HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
